MY STORY

IMAGINE IF YOU WILL....
Hi, I am Matt. I have an incredible story of Faith, Healing, and overcoming life’s adversity that I would like to share with you. In fact, once you read it you will realize that it is not just a story but a testimony. My goal is that this site will provide a source of education and hope to the hopeless. Even if I can reach and assist only ONE single desperate soul crying out for help then my goal will not have been in vain.
Although I currently reside in Ohio, I am quite worldly having experienced multiple overseas deployments with the military on assignments ranging from a chemical officer and seaborne transportation officer to a helicopter pilot. I am also an electrical engineer. I mention this not to list resume bullet points but to convey to you, the reader, the importance of problem solving. That is what the military and engineers do, they find solutions and solve problems. I had to use those skills to the fullest to find a solution for my illness.
If you found this site I am at your service. I aim to provide you the information/support that I was in desperate need and which I would hope that you would provide to me in the same manner if our situations were reversed.
Dear Readers, while this site’s blog is to provide information on Life’s Truths for Health, Finances, and World Events. The main purpose is to provide hope to the hopeless for those suffering from digestive disorders (IBD, IBS, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s) and immune disorders (internal bleeding, rheumatoid arthritis). This is provided through my story and also my research, trials, and tribulations that I personally undertook to overcome this disease.
I was bleeding for a month. Not a little blood but pools of blood. I had dropped from my normal 160 pounds to under 110 pounds. When my family saw me; my father, my mother, and my sister immediately sprung into action to take me to a GI doctor. His question to me was not “How we made the 2 hour drive in rainy weather?” but “How was I still alive?” My sitting pulse rate was racing faster than the Indy cars speeding along at over 150 bpm. I spent perhaps 1 New York minute (meaning VERY QUICK) on the exam table before he rendered his expert advice of “Take him to the Emergency Room Now”.
I was transported to one of the top rated hospitals in the country. I was there for 8 days. They said I was the medical definition of cachexia (wasting away and malnourished). They said my only hope was surgery and that medicine couldn’t fix me. I decided not to listen. I chose to be victorious. Or rather a more accurate statement is that I chose Faith and listened to the Holy Spirit who you will see through the telling of this story provided everything that I needed to overcome my difficulties. With the benefit of hindsight being 20/20, looking back the previous challenges that had come across my path in 2015 were much needed stepping stones of Faith for this ultimate challenge.
This is me at the beginning of 2015. This may have been a great year for you Dear Reader, a fabulous year, a stupendous year even and Amen for that! For me it started out the same way. But I, like you, am not immune from life’s trials. But were we may differ is how we go about overcoming or facing them. Here is my story on how I did. Sometimes adversities can sneak up on a person out of no where. Mine did so three times in 2015. Sneaky as famed Mr. Liu Bolin from China (see pic below): Just as you may have trouble seeing him in this photo although he is in plain sight, my troubles were just as difficult to see coming at the start of 2015. THE BEGINNING OF MY 2015:
The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the temperature was clear/blue/and 22. Here are photos of me in July of 2015. At this time I was only dealing with 2 out of the 3 problems I had in 2015. It was the third one that almost got me. Continue on to my main site to find out what these problems were and to find…. A door opens inside.
